PRP Therapy in Tokyo (Cellular Matrix PRP+HA)

Looking for PRP treatment in Tokyo? Rejuva Medical Clinic (approximately a six-minute walk from Omotesando Station, Exit A4) offers PRP therapy as Cellular Matrix: high-concentration platelet-rich plasma from your own blood, combined with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. One vial is ¥242,000 and an additional vial is ¥174,000, tax included; a course of three sessions is recommended. The treatment is provided under a Class III regenerative medicine plan filed with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (PC3200161). Three doctors, including clinic director Dr. Rena Hirata, offer consultations in English.

What is PRP therapy?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is prepared from a small sample of your own blood. The blood is centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich fraction, which contains growth factors that signal your fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. When injected into the skin, PRP restores firmness and natural volume gradually, without the defined edges that a filler can leave.

The result depends on the preparation kit. Many kits concentrate platelets only two to three times. Rejuva uses a high-performance kit that concentrates platelets more than eight times with a platelet recovery rate above 80%, so that each session delivers a stronger signal for tissue regeneration.

Why Cellular Matrix (PRP + HA)?

At Rejuva, PRP is prepared as Cellular Matrix, which combines the PRP with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid is not a filler: it is not crosslinked, so it does not add lasting volume. Instead, it acts as a scaffold that holds the growth factors at the injection site and provides hydration that PRP alone does not.

Cellular Matrix is priced the same as the clinic's standard PRP treatment. Dr. Hirata explains the differences from PRP alone, why hyaluronic acid is added, and what the clinical evidence does and does not show in her article PRP + Non-Crosslinked Hyaluronic Acid: What Is Cellular Matrix?.

Treatment areas

  • Face: nasolabial folds, under-eye hollows, fine lines, and overall skin firmness. The full-face price is quoted at the consultation and is equivalent to hyaluronic acid fillers.
  • Scalp: PRP injected into the scalp stimulates new capillaries around weakened follicles, for thinning hair in both men and women.
  • Intimate area: injection into the vaginal wall or labia majora for laxity, atrophy, and dryness after childbirth or with age; injection into the clitoris or G-spot for reduced sensitivity.

For international patients

Three doctors, including clinic director Dr. Rena Hirata, offer consultations in English. No interpreter is needed, and English-speaking patients pay the same prices as Japanese-speaking patients. The treatment takes about 60 minutes including the blood draw and preparation. Mild swelling and redness usually settle within one week, so most visitors can continue sightseeing or travel the next day.

A course of three sessions is recommended. If you are visiting Tokyo only once, the doctor will discuss what a single session can and cannot achieve at the consultation.

Risks and downtime

Mild to moderate swelling and redness can occur after injection and usually settle within a few days to one week; some patients feel puffiness for two to three weeks. Bruising, when it occurs, is absorbed within one to two weeks. Rarely, firm nodules can form from excess cell proliferation. Because the treatment uses your own blood, allergic reactions are very unlikely, but infection remains a rare possibility. Please tell the doctor about any medical conditions, medications, or allergies at the consultation.

FAQ

What is Cellular Matrix, and how is it different from PRP alone?

Cellular Matrix is a preparation that combines platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from your own blood with non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid acts as a scaffold that holds the growth factors at the injection site and adds hydration, which PRP alone does not provide. Clinic director Dr. Rena Hirata explains the differences, and what the clinical evidence does and does not show, in her article on this site.

How much does PRP therapy cost in Tokyo at Rejuva?

One vial for the face is ¥242,000 and each additional vial is ¥174,000, tax included. Scalp treatment for hair loss is ¥174,000 per session or ¥792,000 for six sessions. Intimate rejuvenation is ¥242,000 per vial. The price for the full face is quoted at the consultation and is equivalent to hyaluronic acid fillers. The initial consultation fee is ¥3,300, including tax.

How many sessions do I need, and how long do results last?

A course of three sessions is recommended. Collagen and elastin are produced gradually over the weeks after each session, so the result develops over one to three months and lasts longer than a filler. Response varies between individuals, and the doctor will discuss a realistic plan at the consultation.

Is there downtime? Can I travel after the treatment?

Mild swelling and redness are common for a few days and usually settle within one week; some patients feel puffiness for two to three weeks. Bruising, when it occurs, is absorbed within one to two weeks. Most international patients can resume normal activities, including travel, the next day. Rarely, firm nodules can form from excess cell proliferation.
